About The Airport

Heathrow, to the west of London, has 4 operational terminals, a vast footprint and great duty-free discounts.
Thanks to its great restaurants and high-tech passenger services, including biometric boarding, LHR came 4th place in the Condé Nast ‘Readers' Choice Awards’ in 2017 and 8th place in Skytrax's 2018 'Best Airports of the World'.
It also came 9th in the Skytrax ‘World's Best Airport Dining Experience’.

There are two lounges in Terminal 2: Plaza Premium Lounge and Plaza Premium Lounge (Arrivals).

There are three lounges in Terminal 3: No1 Lounge, Heathrow, Plaza Premium Lounge and Club Aspire Lounge.

There are also three in Terminal 4: Plaza Premium Lounge, Plaza Premium Lounge (Arrivals) and SkyTeam Lounge.

Lastly, there is one lounge in Terminal 5: Aspire, The Lounge at LHR T5.

Getting to and from the airport

Heathrow is 27km from central London.

Taxi - you can get one of London's much-loved black cabs (or 'hackney carriages') from the rank outside the terminals. The cost to central London varies from GBP 45 to GBP 70 depending on the time of day and traffic, and cabs accept card payments.

Bus - There's a central bus station near Terminals 2 and 3, and coach stops outside Terminals 4 and 5.

Train - Premium non-stop train service Heathrow Express runs every 15 minutes and takes around 15 minutes to get to Paddington Station. Heathrow Connect also runs to Paddington and other stations in West London, and takes around 30 minutes to get to Paddington. Those with a late flight from Heathrow will be pleased to know that there are baggage lockers located at Paddington Station. You can leave your luggage in the lockers while you do any last-minute shopping or sightseeing, then pick them up before catching a train to the airport. London Underground (Piccadilly line) trains run to Heathrow Terminals 2, 3, 4 and 5 and take around an hour to reach central London. You can pay for your journey on London Underground (or "the Tube") using a pre-paid Oyster card or contactless debit card. Oyster cards can be bought from the cashier window or at the self-service machines in the airport's Underground station.

Hotel shuttle - the Hotel Hoppa service runs between the terminals and hotels close to the airport. Buses stop just outside the terminals.

Car rental - there are 8 car rental operators that have desks in the Arrivals halls of all terminals.

Limousine - the airport's chauffeur service will take you to and from any destination in the UK.

Parking

Long-stay, short-stay and valet parking are available for all terminals. Blue Badge parking is available in short and long-stay parking lots.

Transit and in-airport hotels

It's a 10-minute walk between Terminals 2 and 3.

Free shuttle trains run between Terminals 2 and 3 and Terminal 4. There are 4 trains an hour and the journey takes around 20 minutes.

Trains are also free between Terminals 2 and 3 and Terminal 5. There's a train every 15 minutes and the journey takes around 20 minutes.

The Help Bus - a special assistance bus between terminals - is available from the terminal forecourts after Immigration.

The Sofitel Heathrow has direct access to Terminal 5 via a covered walkway and the Hilton Heathrow Hotel has the same arrangement for Terminal 4.

YOTELAIR sleeping cubes are available in Terminal 4 near Arrivals.

Healthy Travel Tip

While doing your duty-free shopping, be sure to look out for British tea brands Fortnum & Mason, Twinings and Teapigs. Drinking ginger tea can help soothe travel nausea and chamomile tea is perfect for calming pre-flight nerves.
