Bangkok Suvarnabhumi Intl

Bangkok, Thailand

About The Airport

Super-modern Suvarnabhumi is a favorite with photographers, thanks to its stunning glass-and-metal corridors and futuristic design. With just one huge terminal, it's one of southeast Asia's biggest international airports and the larger of two international airports serving Bangkok - the other being Don Mueang.

Getting to and from the airport

Suvarnabhumi Airport is 30km from central Bangkok.

Taxi - taxis are available at Gates 4 and 7 on Level 1. Take a ticket from the counter, which will indicate which pick-up area your taxi will be waiting in.

Bus - around 12 local bus services go to a variety of destinations from the transportation center on Level 1. Public van routes also operate from Gates 1 and 8 of Level 1; these are shared ride services with designated routes. If you need to transfer to Bangkok's other major airport, Don Mueang, you can catch a free bus from outside Arrivals on Level 2; the service runs every half an hour (except in the early hours of the morning).

Train - the train operates from Basement (B) level, connecting the airport with Phaya Thai Station.

Hotel shuttle - one or two hotels offer free shuttles to and from the airport, including the Best Western Premier Amaranth Suvarnabhumi Airport and the Regent Suvarnabhumi. Others charge a small fee for a shuttle, or offer limo or luxury car transfers. Most shuttles depart from Door 4 of the Arrivals area.

Car rental - around 10 car rental firms are available at the airport on Level 2.

Limousine - to order a limousine, inquire at the Limousine Service Counter on Level 2 (Arrivals).

Transit and in-airport hotels

As the airport is just one large terminal, there's no need to leave the building for connecting flights.

The Miracle Transit hotel is on the 4th floor of the International Departures Hall, Concourse G. There's also a Boxtel at the Airport Link's Suvarnabhumi station on the Basement (B) Floor; it has basic 'micro accommodation' with small but comfortable wooden rooms.

Novotel Suvarnabhumi Airport Hotel is connected to the airport by a covered, air-conditioned walkway; it takes around 5 minutes to walk, or you can take the free shuttle.
